 Unsightly foam and froth present on the surface of ponds is due to an excess of protein in the water. The more protein present the larger the amount of foam.
The actions of NT Labs Antifoam will break down the froth, but it will not get rid of the protein in the water. Antifoam is non toxic and can be used daily if necessary.
If there is a lot of foam constantly present, the efficiency of the biological filtration system should be checked by using Ammonia and Nitrite test kits and the amount of food fed should be reduced. |
